Today short and simple: our satellite also called moon. If you want to take some moon shots, do it in the evening. If you are too late, either the moon is blown out or the sky is pitch dark. I like to take moonshots early enough to get some blue framing and more beautiful are thin clouds around the moon. This kind of cirrostratus clouds mostly I hate like athelete’s foot, because at night especially with this bright moon, you will not see any stars only a white wall in the sky. But to shoot the moon, they are okay

The moon in the mirror lake

It was the night with the wet feet, you may remember. I was standing there, with my wet feet and took this image before the clouds are closing the whole sky. But it was not so worse, because the clouds are not getting thicker and the stars becomes a glow through the clouds. So beside the main annoyance I get a very nice picture from the moon. And maybe I has not told you but: I hate wet feet!

High moon

As mindful reader do you know the stories about Tschappina. This is an image before the disaster begun. Hmm, not really, actually I had to know that this will not work well. As I left my car I realized I had forgotten my winter jacket. Hey not so bad, I had 3 layers of sweatshirts. Sure it was bad! As bad as it could be with temperatures unter -20°C!!! What a moron, going to the mountains and forget the jacket. Fortunately it was absolutely wind still and I could get this and some other images without the right clothes.

A lonely moon

And lonely is the moon circling his track around the earth. While the sun is going down on the opposite and throw red light on the snowy mountains, the moon is climbing up in the sky and will brighten up our dark night with his light.
And if the photographer could be at the place to the right time, he could catch the moon while he is nearer at the mountains with more focal length.

The enchanted castle

There were rumors about a castle, deep in the wood, nobody knows exactly about it. Good reason to pack my gear and my boots for a hike thru the spinney. Armed with our tripods, we fighted against thick brushwood until we saw deep in the wood this beautiful castle. It was an especially night were you could see Venus, Jupiter and the Moon near together. It seems they were shining down to this enchanted place to set the castle in the right light.
For this image I needed 12 images with different shutterspeed over 6EV.

The smoky moon

The sun was allready down and the stars visible, as I shoot this photo. But something’s strange on the image. Either the moon is burning or there is a doomsday meteor in the sky. The fact we are still here, excludes the 2nd possibility. But why is there smoke at the moon, I thought it couldn’t be smoke in the space without air. Or maybe they are right and there is also no space and the technicians fixed the problem with the fire. And yes, I think there are now more dark spots on the moon…
