When the dusk falls
Posted on Mai 22nd, 2014
It was one of these evening, when I expect it could get an interesting sunset. I grabbed my cam run to my car and put rubber on the tarmac. Until I found a place where I can get a nice image, the show was nearly gone. But I catched this one.
I should take more time to shoot photos and not run outside, when the show is already running.
Blowing in the wind
Posted on Mai 16th, 2014
The sun goes down, the clouds are dark, the wheat is golden and the clouds are moving. It was a dramatic atmosphere while the storm clouds are moving and with the sunset in my back.
To freeze the fast moving clouds I used a fullstopper filter and I could take the full 30 secounds exposure time to catch the wind in a photo. Can you feel the blowing wind?
When the sun goes down in the mountains

After a steep climb through the snow, I was at my destination on the right time for once. WOW! I had even enough time to check out the places where I have a good sight from the Tschentenalp. For the first part I took the cablecar and the last part I had to walk. And the good thing was, they had night sledging, therefore I could take the cablecar down again.
I stayed approximately four hours on the peak. I was on the top before the sunset and I didn’t leave until the clouds coverd all my beloved stars in the sky. AWhen I was back at my car, the sky was clear again, grml. But I could take some very beautiful images, like this one.
Sunset over Bensheim
Posted on April 20th, 2014
I’m still in easter holiday and after all the cloudy nights without a chance to get some nightshots, I had to walk with Bubu in the rain. And the best part is, it doesn’t rain everywhere, it rains only in the small side valley where I was walking with my dog, hmmm.
About the photo, where I shot two years ago. I was walking around to search good places for the portrait shooting of the bridal couple, when I found this sightseeing over Bensheim while the sun was just hide behind the horizon.
If you are lucky and the clouds are at the right position you can shoot nice sunsets everywhere. If there are no clouds you can have the best sightseeing and the sunset will not be spectacular. So don’t hope for a cloudless sky, okay to much clouds are also bad…
Color explosion

Yesterday was it not possible for me to write a post, because I made this image, and some more…
On my way home I was a little disappointed about the bad weather conditions. Dark clouds above me and no sunshine, but after I was outside the town and near my home village, I saw the horizon. And there weren’t any clouds. So what will happen, when the sun passing the clouds and come near the horizon where no clouds are? Right, it will send all the red light under the clouds and we will become a memorable sunset. And so it happend!
Churfirsten
Posted on März 14th, 2014
They are looking like the blade of a knife, the Churfirsten in the Toggenburg region. Like always my friend and I were late and missed the sunset. But this was maybe better, probably we didn’t wait long enough to see this amazing lightning in the sky. And what I didn’t know at this moment, is how wet my feet get in the next few hours because I wear the wrong shoes and as you know: I hate wet feet!
A colorful sunset in the Emmental
Posted on März 12th, 2014
After the spooky troll hut of yesterday, today we have a nice spring sunset. I shoot it in the region of the Emmental near Berne. You can enjoy e very lovely landscape in this part of Switzerland. If you turn around you could see the nice horizon full of mountains and many of them over 4000m high. But this view shows the more flat part of Berne, else I wouldn’t see the nice sunset.
High moon

As mindful reader do you know the stories about Tschappina. This is an image before the disaster begun. Hmm, not really, actually I had to know that this will not work well. As I left my car I realized I had forgotten my winter jacket. Hey not so bad, I had 3 layers of sweatshirts. Sure it was bad! As bad as it could be with temperatures unter -20°C!!! What a moron, going to the mountains and forget the jacket. Fortunately it was absolutely wind still and I could get this and some other images without the right clothes.
Sunset in the wood

After the winter was cancled here in lower Switzerland, it seems the spring is coming. We will get some very sunny and warm days, good for removing the winter depression. My recommendation; go out and enjoy the sun. I planned some interesting journeys in the mountains to get more cool images However, take this sunny picture as a warmup for the coming weekend!
A lonely moon

And lonely is the moon circling his track around the earth. While the sun is going down on the opposite and throw red light on the snowy mountains, the moon is climbing up in the sky and will brighten up our dark night with his light.
And if the photographer could be at the place to the right time, he could catch the moon while he is nearer at the mountains with more focal length.
