The weatherproof troll hut

Posted on März 11th, 2014

I found this hut deep in the hills of norway, far away of any civilization and if you listen very carefully you could hear the feet of the trolls silently creeping in the hut. This hut has to resist the harsh weather of the norwegian winter, therefore you can see the character this building has become over the years. I like this awesome little cabine, deep in the wilderness of Norway.

A lighthouse

Posted on März 6th, 2014

It was the object of my ambition, a lighthouse at the beach. Now I can test my brandnew fullstopper filter to make smooth water surface. I tried a bit and go further because there are many lighthouses on our way through Norway. What a goony idea! If you have the object you want, stay as long as possible until the sun will go down or up, for the best light. And if you wife will get angry let her shout. There are maybe more lighthouses on the way, but they are all build in rainy areas, without any sight…
Oh, sorry I have to go … “Yes, honey I’m coming honey, I’ll be right with you…”

Endless sunset in Norddal

Posted on Februar 26th, 2014

Every photographer knows, if the sky is getting red and you don’t have build up your tripod and a shooting ready camera, then you have lost. Because the time windows is so short to catch this perfect sky. But if you are in the far north, where the trolls are at home and you hurry up to get the sunset sky and you are so proud, because this time you was fast enough… Then you will discover you have endless time to shoot a sunset. The sun stays at the horizon as long as you never saw it. The reason is, you are so near the tropic of cancer. So remember, at the equator the sun is hidden within seconds, near the polar circle the sun will maybe never hide or only very slow :)

From rain to rain in Jontunheimen

Posted on Januar 16th, 2014

It was one of  the worst day in series of bad days in this holiday. Most time it was cloudy or it was raining. At this stop, a take an image of the next rain starting, you can see the raindrops in the lake. While I took this moody image, my dog used his chance to get in the lake. And if he is in the water, he will not come out so quickly. He was cold, I could see it at the wave circles of his shiver. But do think he comes out? No! We need about 15 minutes until we could grab his neckband and pull him out. This little dog is so bullish!

The stave church of Heddal

Posted on Januar 8th, 2014

This is one of the oldest still existing stave church in norway. It was probably built in the 13. century, there is no exactly date when it was built. Of the 750 documented stave churches existing in the medieval are only 28 left until now. These fully wooden buildings constructions are an interpretation of the viking ship constructions and not a copy of other european stone churches.
I used a 5 image bracket series three times for this picture, to eliminate the moving people inside.
