A green alien

One day, while I was in the kitchen for lunch cooking, I was watching outside and saw that small little guy sitting on a pale of my fence. Hurry up, catch my camera, mounting the tripod and go outside for a photo session. Set the camera as near as possible for the biggest shot I can get of this small green grasshopper. It was only about 2cm (1 inch) long. First shot is okay, but now I want to go closer with my Raynox macro adapter mounted in front of my macro lens. But what’s going on? The small dude is camera-shy and can’t sit still anymore, ARGH! So I can’t show you no closeup of its eyes.
Mountain shadow

It was on my first night tour in the mountains. I was driving by car an walking only few steps, unlike in these days. I took it easy and lazy and year by year I am going farther and farther.
But on this night I was driving over the Schwaegalp and shoot some images and after that I was driving into the Toggenburg where I shoot my image of the Saentis where you find some pictures below this. The yellow glow in the center is however the light pollution of the cities. And not every time, like in this picture, is it a bad part. It gives the image a nice color contrast, which I like it. And the shadow in the foreground comes from the mount Saentis himself, while the moon is rising.
This image is stacked from 8 shots by 15s each with 800ISO.
Wiener Hofburg

Two years ago my wife booked tickets for a circus in Vienna. Unfortunately the circus was going bankrupt and our money for the circus was lost. And the booked flights and the hotel room was payed too. Hmmm, no circus but we can go for a visit in Vienna, in December when the sky is gray and the air is cold. But hey, I can get some pictures with my new 5DmkII. This first image of my Vienna series was shot at 11 o’clock and that’s good. Or did you ever have seen Vienna without people? I had! At late sunday night On the image you can see the Vienna Hofburg on the left part is the spanish riding school, the entrance is under the large gate in the image center. I took this image as a bracket series of 3 images.
Glowing clouds

I had to go three times to this place, near Tschappina, until I could get a nightshot where I can see stars, but this is another story. For this image I couldn’t shot my image by myself. My friend Stefan had to do that for me, I couldn’t press the shutter. Why? I was lying in the wet snow by the hut, with a flashlight in my hands and tried to illuminate the hut equally as possible.
This picture was made by 12 shots for noise reduction stacking. It was a moonless night, so I had to go up to 3200ISO and even with a 5DmkII you’ll have a lot of noise in the images.
But watch the result, I believe it speaks for it self.
The way home
Posted on Dezember 4th, 2013
One day in an autumn evening I was driving home and took a glance in my back mirror. And what can I see? An awesome sunset. I must have looked like the comic figures with that swelling eyes. And like ever; no camera with me! So drove home as fast as possible, grabed my camera and drove back, in right time to catch the sunset.
And now we can enjoy the amazing light scene, which these car drivers had on their way home.
Thank you

My master said, I should thank you for all your wishes, comments and pluses to my birthday. So I addict this rose to all the people who congratulated me to my birthday.
I personaly think this rose is nothing worth, I can’t eat it. But I will not share my sausage with you. I eat it by myself – wuff!

Our small little dog has his 4th birthday. At this place I would like to wish him a very pleasant day, a really big sausage (which indeed he will become later :)) and a long healthy life!
Sometimes he makes us so angry, when he doesn’t hear us, if we call him. Sometimes I’m asking myself, why he has to dig for mice all the time, when he never ever even catched one. After his digging job he is so dirty, I have to get him a shower, which he likes so much. And then you can give him so much fun and vitality with his so loved pink ball. He can hunt this ball for hours, until he finds the next mouse hole, then he has forgotten his toy…
But over all, we love him so much and we will thank him to get us so much pleasure in our life.
Happy Birthday Amadeo!
