Cairns

Posted on März 9th, 2014

Man made cairns in the foreground and nature made cairns in the background, which one is more impressiv? Not a serious question at all. Intend readers know it’s the famous Eiger Northface. If you some day are in Grindelwald and you are not the full trained mountaineer, go for a walk from the Männlichen to the “Kleine Scheidegg”. You can take the cable car up and then you walk on a flat path to the train station where you can take either the train down again or the expensive train up to the very beautiful Jungfraujoch. No matters what you choose, it’s anyway a beauytful and easy hike.

High moon

Posted on März 8th, 2014

As mindful reader do you know the stories about Tschappina. This is an image before the disaster begun. Hmm, not really, actually I had to know that this will not work well. As I left my car I realized I had forgotten my winter jacket. Hey not so bad, I had 3 layers of sweatshirts. Sure it was bad! As bad as it could be with temperatures unter -20°C!!! What a moron, going to the mountains and forget the jacket. Fortunately it was absolutely wind still and I could get this and some other images without the right clothes.

A lighthouse

Posted on März 6th, 2014

It was the object of my ambition, a lighthouse at the beach. Now I can test my brandnew fullstopper filter to make smooth water surface. I tried a bit and go further because there are many lighthouses on our way through Norway. What a goony idea! If you have the object you want, stay as long as possible until the sun will go down or up, for the best light. And if you wife will get angry let her shout. There are maybe more lighthouses on the way, but they are all build in rainy areas, without any sight…
Oh, sorry I have to go … “Yes, honey I’m coming honey, I’ll be right with you…”

Sunset in the wood

Posted on März 5th, 2014

After the winter was cancled here in lower Switzerland, it seems the spring is coming. We will get some very sunny and warm days, good for removing the winter depression. My recommendation; go out and enjoy the sun. I planned some interesting journeys in the mountains to get more cool images  :) However, take this sunny picture as a warmup for the coming weekend!

Cream

Posted on März 4th, 2014

From time to time I tell you a story of my buddy Bubu. You know Bubu is an italian truffles dog, which doesn’t find any truffles. No, it’s not his fault, I’m too lazy to  teach him finding truffles. But what he likes is cream. After the cup was clean, he couldn’t believe there wasn’t any more. I can see it in his eyes, they tells me: “Ey, masta gimmi more of that stuff, this is not all, isn’t it?”

A lonely moon

Posted on März 3rd, 2014

And lonely is the moon circling his track around the earth. While the sun is going down on the opposite and throw red light on the snowy mountains, the moon is climbing up in the sky and will brighten up our dark night with his light.
And if the photographer could be at the place to the right time, he could catch the moon while he is nearer at the mountains with more focal length.

The early sunset

Posted on März 1st, 2014

It was on a hot day in last june, were I decided to go up to a mountain. The reason was, the clear weather and the moonless night. The bad part was the temperature about 30°C. The path was steep and the backpack extra heavy because of the additional tent and sleeping bag, to stay overnight at the peak. The plan was to be on the top for the sunset, the night and the sunrise. However I was too late again for the sunset. So I stopped at the half way up and made this image before the sun was gone. I reached the peak at 22:00 and could see the rest of the reddish light at the horizon. And the night sky was really awesome, but this will be another story, so stay tuned ;)
