Gamlebergen

This a nice museum in Norway, like http://www.ballenberg.ch/ in Switzerland, where the curators preserves old buildings. You can see how the norwegian lived in other centuries.
The weather conditions were bad and not far in the future it started to rain. It was the right decision to take a bracket series and so I could save the sky.
If you visit Bergen, you should also stop at Gamlebergen ( http://www.bymuseet.no/index.php?vis=79&spr=en ), near in the north of Bergen.

This amazing waterfall was on our way from Roldal via Odda to Bergen. It was a bright day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and the exposure time was too short. The water was not soft it was crisp, but I wanted it soft.
Hmmm, ahaa, good to have bigstopper in my luggage. The ND 1000 is so dark, you must set the full camera on manual mode. But then, I can shoot for 30 seconds exposure time even on this bright day. And voila, my soft water is in the box.
At the end of nowhere
Posted on April 23rd, 2014
To reach this piece of earth you have to drive a long distance through the mountains or you take the ferry. It’s the end of the large Lysefjord and called Lysebotn. If the weather conditions are good, then you can see some spectacular views from the top of the pass. As we reached the top one day before, the fog was so thick you couldn’t see the balustrade outside the windows of the restaurant.
Short after I shot this picture, we took the ferry and left this peaceful valley on our journey through Norway.
It’s raining again in Jotunheimen

After the whole day it was raining like hell, we had a short break. But before I was back in the car, it start raining again.
It was a bit pitty, because we missed a lot of very cool destinations and no, it was no option to stop and leave the car, trust me! It was horrible wet outside and so we drove from sightseeing to sightseeing.
Now we have spring again, and hopefully I’m looking to a nice year full of hiking at dry conditions.

Geiranger

What a sightseeing isn’t it? After I walked the way, you can see it in the picture, up from Geiranger to the Mountain called Dalsnibba on an altitude of nearly 1500m I was still fresh like a spring morning. Okay I didn’t walked up there, you can drive with your car up to the peak…
But the sight is really breathtaking. And can you see the lake deep down in the valley? This is not a lake, this is the sea, it’s the end of the Geirangerfjord with the small village Geiranger, where is about 100km away from the coastline and this is really awesome. The peak is only 1500m high, but you have to start at 0m altitude down in Geiranger.

The glacier river
Posted on März 26th, 2014
Once again an image from Norway. It was on a hike to the Briksdalsbreen, a glacier in the middle of Norway. It’s an easy walk from the parking lot a little upward to the end of the valley where the mightful glacier is coming down from the upper part.
You can see the melted water from the glacier in the foreground and the end of the valley with the large glacier tongue. Unfortunately it is melted now to far, so you can no more reach the end of the glacier without danger. But it is impressive anyway, if you are standing at the foot of the glacier.
Lonely in the rain
Posted on März 20th, 2014
If you’re driving nearly 2000km to see a breathtaking place on earth, you won’t stop short before your destination only because it rains. After we received the parking near the Preikestolen in Norway, it begans to rain. At the beginning it was light summer rain but during the hours it was a constant heavy rain.
And so we walked 3 hours up and another 3 hours down through the rain. I could not make so much photos of the impressive landscape it was simply too wet.
But short after we returned I gazed back and saw this lonely person standing at the cliff. Under the feet 700m free fall down to the fjord.
How trolls are living
Posted on März 17th, 2014
Today I can share a top secret with you. On my norwegian tour I followed a troll to his home and waited there until he left again. Then I used the time to make a fast shot before he’s coming back. It was very dangerous, because if he traped me who knows what happend to me. But I was fast enough outside again. After I heard him coming back, I jumped out of a window in the backside of the hut.
